Join us on this “Members Only” plant walk to the sandhills habitats at Townsend Wildlife Management Area. This unique ecosystem is dominated by Longleaf pine and scrub oaks. Under active restoration since acquisition by the GA Dept. of Natural resources about 10 years ago this area provides critical habitat for gopher tortoises and the rare Radford’s Mint. We will explore the other fall flowering species that call this area home. This trip will be led by GA DNR biologist Eamonn Leonard. We will meet in the parking lot near the old Darien Outlet Mall and caravan (20 mins) to the site.

Cost: $Free (Members Only)

Limit: 20

Register by Mail: RSVP to admin@coastalwildscapes.org. Remit payment to Coastal WildScapes P.O. Box 1106, Darien GA 31305
